It’s been a year now since we got Daisy from her previous owner. We were told she was from petsnpals sold as a Bichon/ShiTzu mix. I was able to get her vet records which included her initial pets n pals paperwork and shot records. We recently got her health tested through Embark and I thought I would post proof here that she is not from a puppy mill.

1- her breed mix is exactly what she was sold as. A 1st generation puppy from Purebred parents.
2 – Her COI or coefficient of inbreeding is only 1%. That’s extraordinarily low for a purebred dog and unheard of in a puppy mill dog where COI’s can be as high as 10 or 20 percent.
3 – She has no siblings on embark which means her parents likely didn’t have many litters (ethical breeder). She has some relatives on there, but none in the area and very few overall.
4 – clear for all breed specific pathologies. I was especially concerned about potential eye issues, but she came back all clear.

This is a healthy, well and ethically bred dog. I can’t say the same for my 20lb Yorkie from a Lynchburg store. We received very different results and hundreds of distant relatives.

I go in there with my disabled son frequently to look at the hermit crabs and I’m always amazed at how active they are. They’re also HUGE! I don’t know how long hermit crabs live, but these seem to be older than most and I suspect they don’t molt as often at this size. Again, a quality product that wasn’t rushed to be sold, but had time to safely reach adulthood beforehand. The staff is always nice and friendly.
